Minute to Win It

One Minute. Random Challenge. Serious Effort. Huge Laughs.

Flip. Flick. Stack. Laugh. Repeat.

A rapid-fire team experience built from gloriously random one-minute games. Cups, ping-pong balls, straws, pencils and playing cards become the equipment for quick challenges that invite everyone to compete, cheer and laugh when the plan—or the cup tower—collapses.

The Experience

Minute to Win It turns the most ordinary objects imaginable into a room full of quick challenges, fierce concentration and completely disproportionate celebration. One round might involve stacking cups against the clock; the next could ask somebody to flick, blow, balance, flip or transfer something in a way that nobody has previously considered useful.

The host demonstrates each game before teams decide who will take it on. Some challenges involve one representative, some use pairs or mini-teams and others become relays where everybody has a go. Most rounds run for around a minute, keeping the pace high and ensuring that a dropped cup or wandering ping-pong ball becomes a funny moment rather than a long defeat.

Participation can flex from round to round. People may volunteer, nominate a teammate, cheer from the side, help the facilitator or—with clear consent—capture the moments everyone will want to remember. Reboot encourages broad participation, but not the idea that every person must perform in exactly the same way to count.

Points can be awarded by finishing position and carried into a final result, or the whole session can run just for fun. Even when teams become surprisingly competitive, the absurdity of the tasks keeps the stakes low. The real finish is a room that has relaxed, made some shared memories and discovered several talents that will never appear on a job description.

The Reboot Difference

You may recognise the activity. What we do is different.

Ways To Take Part

There’s more than one way to take part

You don’t have to do everything to be part of everything.

Many Reboot Active experiences offer different ways to contribute, support, observe and participate, so individuals can choose an appropriate level of involvement.

Perfect For .  . .

Minute to Win It is ideal for hard-working teams that need a proper change of pace: lively, accessible fun with very little emotional or physical exposure. It works particularly well for new teams, graduate schemes and groups who want to begin connecting without relying on awkward introductions or overly personal icebreakers.

It is also a strong fit for Christmas parties, conference socials, office rewards, bar-based events, workshop energisers and informal celebrations. The variety of challenges allows people to rotate between taking part, supporting teammates and helping the room keep its energy.

For a dedicated outdoor event with more movement and larger-scale challenges, Team Games may be the better Reboot Active experience.

Team Value

What this experience can create opportunities for

The primary value of Minute to Win It is connection. Short, funny challenges give colleagues an immediate shared subject, lower the pressure to make conversation and generate stories that continue after the event. It sits firmly in Reboot's Bond space: laughter and positive energy come first.

The changing format also creates light-touch teamwork. Participants have to choose representatives, explain techniques, encourage one another and recover quickly when a plan fails. Because the next round arrives almost immediately, no single result carries much weight and the team gets repeated opportunities to reset.

These moments can support inclusion, communication and mutual support, but they should not be over-interpreted. Success at moving ping-pong balls with a straw does not reveal leadership potential; the useful outcome is a team that has relaxed, interacted and enjoyed achieving something together.

What it can Reveal

What people may naturally notice while doing it

The games can make a few familiar habits visible without turning the event into an assessment. Some teams overthink a very simple brief. Others select the same confident person every time, offer several competing instructions at once or discover that cheering is more useful when the participant can still hear the plan.

Small failures also arrive quickly and publicly: the tower falls, the pencil misses or the final cup refuses to land. The low stakes create a safe chance to laugh, reset and give somebody else a go instead of dwelling on the mistake.

Where a development conversation is useful, those moments can prompt light reflection on participation, encouragement, role rotation and how a team keeps energy positive when things do not work first time.
