Battle Archery
Aim. Move. Communicate. Don’t Get Hit.
Fast. Tactical. Competitive. Ridiculously Fun.
A fast, tactical team game combining archery skills with the movement, cover and competitive energy of a battle game. Players use purpose-designed foam-tipped arrows and protective face masks, learning the bow first before moving into timed rounds where communication, awareness and quick decisions matter.

The Experience
Battle Archery takes the basic satisfaction of shooting a bow and drops it into a live team game. Instead of standing on a target line, players move around a defined field, use cover, retrieve arrows and try to outscore the opposition with purpose-designed foam-tipped arrows.
Before the chaos starts, participants learn the equipment and the core shooting technique. The opening practice matters: a player who can load, draw, aim and release with reasonable control has far more fun once movement and competition are added.
Then the pace rises. Depending on the chosen format, teams can score through hits, catches, targets or other game objectives. Players have to decide when to move, when to shoot, when to communicate and when to stop giving away the entire plan at full volume.
The Reboot twist is simple: use several short rounds rather than one long blur. Give teams time to review what just happened, make a tactical adjustment and test it. The activity stays fast and funny, but improvement becomes part of the game.
The Reboot Difference
You may recognise the activity. What we do is different.
Learn Before You Battle
Start with the bow, the field and the safety system. The battle becomes much more enjoyable once players can load, draw, aim and release with reasonable control.
Useful Communication Beats Noise
A team can be loud without sharing useful information. The game quickly shows whether calls are helping people make better decisions or simply adding more noise.
Compete, Then Get Curious
Winning is fun, but the more useful question can be why one round worked better than another — and what the team changed to make that happen.
Play. Review. Replan.
Short rounds create a natural improvement loop: play the game, notice what happened, change one or two things and test the new plan straight away.
Give the Team More Than One Job
Movement, cover, shooting, awareness and communication create different ways to influence a round, so the best contribution is not always the most obvious one.
Ways To Take Part
There’s more than one way to take part
You don’t have to do everything to be part of everything.
Many Reboot Active experiences offer different ways to contribute, support, observe and participate, so individuals can choose an appropriate level of involvement.
Play the Field
Get into the game: move, use cover, shoot, retrieve arrows and make quick decisions as the round develops.
Score & Support
Where the format allows, stay involved between playing rotations by following the score, observing the tactics and supporting the team from outside the live playing area.
Plan & Communicate
Help the team decide how to approach the next round, share useful information on the field and test whether a clearer plan improves the result.
Perfect For . . .
Battle Archery is ideal for groups who want a high-energy team social with genuine interaction and competition. It works well for away days, reward events, graduate groups and teams that enjoy fast games where communication and tactical choices have an immediate effect.
It is more physical and more chaotic than traditional target archery, so it is not the right choice for every group. Where a lower-energy or more individually paced activity is needed, standard Archery may be a better fit.
Team Value
What this experience can create opportunities for
Battle Archery creates real team interaction because players have to scan the field, communicate, choose when to move, decide who to protect or target and adapt as each round changes. The value comes from the game itself rather than from adding artificial teamwork exercises around it.
Short rounds also create a useful feedback cycle. Teams can play, stop, notice what happened, change one or two things and go again. That can make planning, communication, decision-making and role clarity visible very quickly.
The activity is still primarily a fun competitive experience. Any workplace crossover should remain proportionate: winning a round does not prove that a team communicates well at work, but the way people coordinate under time pressure can provide useful material for reflection.
What it can Reveal
What people may naturally notice while doing it
Battle Archery can make several familiar team habits visible at speed. Some teams start with no plan and everybody chases the same opportunity. Others over-plan and react too slowly once the game starts. Communication can become noisy without actually becoming useful.
Between rounds, the team gets the chance to decide what information really matters, whether roles would help and what to change next. That can support a light-touch conversation about planning versus adaptability, clarity under pressure and how quickly a team learns from the last attempt.
