Team Games
Bring Your Team Together Through Fun, Energy and Friendly Competition
Inclusive. Energetic. Engaging. Team Fun.
A playful mix of unusual team challenges that acts as a great leveller. Because nobody is expected to be an expert at flipping discs, rolling balls through pieces of gutter or getting a team through a climbing sling, people have permission to have a go, contribute in different ways and laugh together while working towards a shared objective.

The Experience
Team Games is one of the best levellers in the Reboot range because the tasks are deliberately a little out of the ordinary. It is not often that work asks you to flip discs, guide a ball along pieces of gutter or get a whole team through a climbing sling. That unfamiliarity matters: hardly anybody arrives as the obvious expert, so people get a kind of free licence to have a go.
Natural strengths still show up. Somebody may be agile, another a strategist, leader, facilitator, communicator or listener; somebody else may simply be the person who keeps the group together when the first plan goes wrong. Because the challenge type keeps changing, different people can matter for different reasons rather than one person dominating the whole session.
It is also a much less awkward way to connect than forcing workplace icebreakers, personal introductions or team show-and-tell. The attention is on something external and shared: solve the task, beat the clock, help the team, laugh at the chaos and try again. People reveal plenty about how they interact without being asked to perform their personality in front of the room.
For many teams that creates more genuine interaction than simply meeting for a pub social. A social can be enjoyable, but a shared objective gives colleagues a reason to communicate, help one another and experience something together. People can still step back from a particular challenge when they need to; the aim is participation without coercion, not everybody doing exactly the same thing.
The Reboot Difference
You may recognise the activity. What we do is different.
More Than Sporting Ability
Mix relay, collaborative, problem-solving and strategy challenges so success is not reserved for the fastest or fittest people in the group.
Tune the Competition
Competition can be light-touch or more tournament-led. Leaderboards and finals are tools to raise energy when they suit the group, not compulsory ingredients.
Build the Atmosphere
Music, team identities, scoring, finals and celebration turn a collection of games into a shared event with its own energy and story.
Change the Mode
Move between fast, funny, strategic and collaborative tasks so teams have to keep changing how they communicate, organise and contribute.
Ways To Take Part
There’s more than one way to take part
You don’t have to do everything to be part of everything.
Many Reboot Active experiences offer different ways to contribute, support, observe and participate, so individuals can choose an appropriate level of involvement.
Get Stuck In
Take part directly in the mix of unusual games and challenges. Because hardly anyone arrives as an expert at flipping discs, guiding balls through pieces of gutter or moving a team through a climbing sling, everyone gets a bit of licence to have a go, laugh at the learning curve and contribute to the shared objective.
Encourage & Connect
Keep people involved, notice useful contributions, bring quieter voices into the plan and help the group recover after a messy round. Team Games can make good communication, encouragement and simple team-minded behaviour surprisingly visible.
Plan & Organise
Some challenges reward thinking before moving. Help the team understand the task, spot a useful sequence, allocate roles, keep track of the rules or suggest a reset when the first idea is not working. Strategy, facilitation and listening can matter just as much as speed.
Step Back & Rejoin
You do not have to take the most physical role in every game. Step back from a particular challenge if you need to, stay with the team through planning, observation, encouragement or photos where appropriate, then rejoin when the next task gives you a better way in.
Perfect For . . .
Team Games is a strong choice for organisations that want broad participation, plenty of energy and a format that can flex between pure fun and something more deliberately team-focused. It works especially well for company away days, team celebrations, graduate or onboarding events, cross-department gatherings and groups that simply need a positive reason to mix and interact.
The variety is the advantage. Because the session can move between energetic, collaborative, problem-solving and strategic challenges, different people can find different ways to contribute across the day. That makes it particularly useful for mixed groups where one single sporting or technical activity might suit only part of the team.
It can also work as an early Reboot experience: familiar enough to feel approachable, but varied enough to start making communication, role choice, encouragement and team dynamics visible when a client wants more than just a social.
Team Value
What this experience can create opportunities for
Team Games creates repeated short cycles in which people have to understand a task, decide how to approach it, communicate, allocate roles and then adapt when the next challenge changes the rules. Because the tasks are unfamiliar and varied, normal workplace status and expertise matter less than they often do in the office.
That can make different strengths more visible: agility, planning, facilitation, listening, leadership, encouragement, attention to detail or simply being a good team player. The useful part is not diagnosing people from a game; it is giving the team a shared situation in which those contributions can be noticed.
The format also removes much of the awkwardness of forced icebreakers and personal introductions. People connect around an external objective rather than being asked to perform socially on demand. Compared with a conventional pub social, the games create more reasons for colleagues to interact across existing friendship groups and generate shared moments they can actually talk about afterwards.
Where useful, facilitators can lightly draw attention to communication, contribution, decision-making and how the group responds to winning, losing or changing tasks without taking the fun out of the experience.
What it can Reveal
What people may naturally notice while doing it
Team Games can be especially relevant where people work across departments, hybrid patterns or roles that do not naturally interact. The changing tasks repeatedly mix communication, coordination, planning and quick decisions, creating opportunities for colleagues to work with people they may not normally rely on.
The format can also make participation patterns visible. Who steps forward immediately? Who hangs back until a different type of challenge appears? Does the group keep choosing the same voices, or does leadership move as the task changes? Those moments can be useful reflection prompts without turning a fun event into an assessment exercise.
Because the stakes are playful rather than operational, the session can provide a useful environment for experimenting with different roles, encouraging quieter contributions and noticing how the team reacts to competition, mistakes and changing rules.
